About the Event

Registration required.

Join us on the very first WMPD Day: Understanding Diversity in STEM. The Women, Minorities, and Persons with Disabilities (WMPD) in Science and Engineering biennial report provides statistical information about the participation of underrepresented groups in science and engineering education and employment, with the goal of disseminating objective data on the science and engineering enterprise. Data and figures in this digest are organized into the following topical areas: enrollment, field of degree, employment status, and occupation, including academic careers.

This 30-minute program will use WMPD findings from the National Center for Science and Engineering Statistics to recognize gains that have been made and gaps that remain. We share stories of how broadening participation in STEM has created opportunities for researchers and improved quality of life for communities across the globe.
